Why Simplicity Pays
For every 25 percent increase in problem complexity, there is a 100 percent increase in solution complexity. Conversely... for a 20% decrease in complexity -- there is a 50% decrease in solution complexity. That's powerful stuff. Fuzzy, dodgy maths, with made up figures, yes... But POWERFUL fuzzy, dodgy maths, with made up figures!

Having realised the error of my ways, I decrease the complexity of the problem back to it's original value 1.00. This represents a decrease of 0.25/1.25 or 20%. That corresponds to a decrease in solution complexity of 50% resulting in a final solution complexity of 1.00...
D'oh!!!! I was setting out to show how you got your maths wrong and I shot myself in the foot!!
