Windows Updates Make Me Nervous

Rather surprised by the new 'updates are ready' message from Microsoft. Hmmm.

revised updates message from microsoft

Perhaps they know just how much frustration we had on the home pc recently due to their dodgy updates.

(Fixed thanks to Scott Swigart)

Nice fake, but not quite good enough. ;)

You can see that ClearType is on for the "Updates are ready..." line (and the clock) but not for the new addition.

Sorry to spoil the fun.

Let me guess, you stand up in the middle of a magic show and yell "That's not magic!"

I'd still be all wigged out if I saw something like that. I'd be all like 'Yo! Hax0rz!' and promptly unplug my network cable. :P

@zooba -- sorry no anti-aliasing in MS Paint as far as I could tell.

And the real mistake is the capital P in Punk. For that I'm truly ashamed.

'Zooba' on Fri, 23 Mar 2007 05:20:07 GMT, sez:

Marty,

Of course not. People go to a magic show for entertainment (as presumably I have as well, if I'm there), and distracting them is impolite.

Lb,

Didn't even pick up on the capital P... though anti-aliasing in MS Paint would be great :D

What's that extra time display you've got there?

'lb' on Fri, 23 Mar 2007 05:24:22 GMT, sez:

@zooba
that little semi-transparent time panel is slick run, [Win]+Q to activate, full of good tricks. And i have colibri running too.

And to pour coffee in my mouth i hit [Win]+C -- that's the only way i can ensure my hands never have to leave the keyboard.

Very nice. Though I seem to be having trouble with [Win]+C. I press it and press it but still I have to actually suck on the straw leading into my backpack (Dilbert reference, for anyone who misses it).
